Reclining Chairs For Hospitals
The Government, in the Ministry of Overall health and Wellness, has expended $eighteen million to accumulate 200 new hospital reclining chairs, which will quickly be dispersed among hospitals across the island.
The initial batch of chairs was sent off on Tuesday (October 22), with the Ministry’s storage facility in Kingston.
Minister of Wellbeing and Wellness, Dr. the Hon. Christopher Tufton, stated the objective is to scale back overcrowding in Incident and Crisis Departments, and to provide additional ease and comfort to clients even though they hold out for being admitted on wards, as the chairs is often unfolded and applied instead for just a clinic mattress.
Procedure materials can be linked to the chairs for people to get addressed when they wait around.
“This tends to be observed like a type of interim measure that allows people to wait, but wait around in relative consolation whilst They are really specified Preliminary treatment method until finally they are often transferred into a clinic mattress,” Dr. Tufton mentioned.
He also mentioned the beds might be useful through this time with extra individuals in search of treatment with the flu and dengue, which oftentimes leads to overcrowding in a few hospitals.
Dr. Tufton stated the Ministry decided to buy new clinic reclining chairs, because they tend to be more resourceful than standard clinic beds.
“Part of the challenge with changing more beds, is if you set far more beds in hospitals, you even have to make far more properties to support the beds, and so, we really need to, in the interim, even though we strategy to construct out our hospitals, find a way to accommodate more and more people,” he reported.
The chairs were being sourced by Jamaica Clinic Materials.
